Physical Cleaning and reseating connections

Physically cleaning computer requires removing the case , blowing the accumulated dust out of the inside including the drives and power supply and re-seating the connectors and cards.
Working the cards and connectors in and out a couple times scrapes off any tarnish that builds up over time and ensures a good connection between your components.
As far as dust, even in very clean environments electronics will attract dust do to their electric charge. it is often surprising how much dust is removed from a computer in a very clean environment.Remember that is very important to be sure you're grounded and the static you carry with you a specially when moving over carpet is discharged before handling any of the components inside of the computer . This is most effectively accomplished by touching the case of the computer while the computers plugged in and then unplugging the computer before any parts are removed or cleaned on the inside.

This step is best handled by a trained computer technician as it is very easy to make a mistake and damage the components if not properly handled.

Also use caution when including LCD monitors as the screens may be damaged by certain cleaners such as 409 use only recommended and approved cleaning solutions and a soft clean cloth .
